The SAT is brutal—some might even call it a traumatic rite of passage. The sharpened number two pencils, the suffocating silence of a gym packed with anxious students, and the well-meaning yet deeply unconvincing counselor speech: “Your score doesn’t define you.” (A comforting thought, until you realize more colleges are shifting back toward standardized testing policies.)
The Seniors still bear the emotional scars. The Sophomores and Freshmen watch in dread, knowing their time will come. But for now, the Juniors must face the beast with only hours (or minutes) of dubiously helpful Khan Academy at their disposal.
In a show of unwavering unity, the Warde student body has taken a bold stand: No school on Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025. Not for a holiday. Not for a snow day. But in solidarity with the SAT-taking Juniors, who, after enduring hours of bubbling answers and existential crises, are granted early dismissal. If they get to leave, shouldn’t we all?
We are one school, one heart, and we must recognize the sacrifice the Class of 2026 is making. Their suffering is our suffering. Their half-day should be everyone’s half-day.
Warde students, stand together. Stay home. Honor the cause.
