Mrs. Landowne reports how psyched she is that her son Will, a junior at Staples, did really well last week at the 2016 FCIAC Cross Country Championship meet at Waveny Park in New Canaan. “Will came in fourth. I noticed a student from Warde came in second. Wouldn’t this be the kind of thing you’d read about on a timely, school-sanctioned online news source? Somebody should do something like that.”
As a former newspaper editor myself, I am displeased to inform you that this article is simply not fit for print. Who cares about Mrs. Landowne and her son??? Irrelevant. This is not breaking news, nor an evergreen feature. However, if the Warde Focus were to run an in depth piece on Mrs. Landowne’s other, better child (who was at the age of 11 a state-ranked swimmer, I might add) I would be all ears.
Ms. DelSole won’t be providing bagels for Homeroom Halloween until the Focus editors and contributors step up their game. Elias and Schriener are going to be very disappointed.
